Look, the reason 1 in 5 people can’t point the US out on a map is because one out of every five Americans is either geographically ignorant, mentally incapacitated, blind and without access to a tactile map, or has a sense of humor when asked a stupid question. Final answer.
Seriously, if you came up to me on the street and asked me to point out the US on a world map, you face a 20% chance that I’m going to intentionally point to South Africa or “The Iraq.”
